Lovely professional sailing school. I recently completed my Competent Crew course. Marco is a very qualified teacher with lots of experience. He has an abundance of knowledge about life at sea and how to handle any occasion. I’m excited to start my Day Skipper with MOSS next season!

I acquired my license under Marco in 2013, and as a result, I've sailed over 5000 nautical miles and counting, of which 2000+ miles were with my son. He started when he was just 9 months old and has now become an experienced sailor. We've had the pleasure of sailing on a fully equipped yacht, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing and fun, all thanks to our very professional trainer, Marco. Today, it's not just about the miles and magic, but also the 10+ years of friendship we've built. It's always a joy to meet him and his students at various harbors, each rich in history, charm, and fabulous food in the Netherlands. Can't thank enough!
I recently did my RYA Competent Crew course with instructor Marco. Marco is not only a very experienced and relaxed sailor but also a genuinely kind and funny guy. You can tell he loves being on the boat & sharing his passion for sailing. What I appreciated most about Marco's teaching style is how he encourages curiosity. Rather than overloading you with information, he empowers you to think, explore, and learn through hands-on experience. MOSS Sailing adheres to RYA teaching methods, which to me seem to strike a good balance between rigor and practicality.
I passed my RYA day skipper with MOSS! I was very nervous after doing the online theory course, but Marco has guided me very patiently and he is super knowledgeable. Sailing is in his blood and he will make sure you feel comfortable and relaxed and allows you to take your time. In addition, Marco makes sure to explain modern navigation and sailing as well and he will always tell you the truth. The most important is to relax & enjoy. I had a lot of fun during my weeklong course and feel like the hands-on experience is exactly what I needed to boost my confidence.
